Stony Stratford
Our Bed and Breakfast is situated near the centre of the stunning market town of Stony Stratford. There is a wide array of pubs and restaurants that serve traditional English, Indian, Chinese and Thai meals to eat in or take-away, plus a popular Carvery establishment. Many of the public houses offer live sports tv as well as regular live music. Stony Stratford is an historical town, home of the famous Cock & Bull story. You can visit the legendary Cock & Bull, where the famous story originated from.
Stony Stratford was built on the famous Roman road, the Watling Street. There are attractive river walks close by and there are also 4 beautiful churches of varying denominations in the town. The river Great Ouse flows around the Northern and Western perimeters of Stony Stratford. In fact, the name Stratford comes from the Roman name for ford crossings. Stony's position on this road means it has a great travelling tradition, including being visited by Royalty on several occasions in its past.
